この春、ユヌス・エムレ・トルコ文化センターにて、画家オズレムによる初の個展を開催いたします。
日本では古くから、すずめ、菜の花といった素朴で身近な自然が愛されてきました。これらの花鳥は実は世界各地に生息し、年代を問わず人々に愛され親しまれて来たものでもあります。同様に、小さなおもちゃやハサミ、装飾品などの日常の品々もまた、私たちの記憶の中で特別な意味を持っています。これらの時代を超えた存在は、ときに一人一人を迷路のような記憶の世界にいざない、子ども時代の感情や懐かしさを呼び覚します。
本展は、日常生活の中に潜む普遍的な美を探求し、自然や身近な物に秘められた記憶や感情を呼び起こす試みです。
オズレムは2019年より独学で油彩を学び、日本で制作を続けています。2023年には本センターにて共同絵画展を開催し、高い評価を得ました。初の個展となる本展では、大判の油彩画と、わずか7.5cm四方のミニチュア油彩画の作品群を紹介します。
タイトル 「ワンダーランド」 には、私たちの身近にありながら見過ごされがちな美や記憶に改めて目を向け、子どものような純粋な感覚でこの不思議な世界を再発見して欲しいという思いが込められています。
また、会期中にはライブペインティングも開催、繊細なレイヤーを重ね生み出される深みを間近で体感いただけます。記憶と想像の魔法に満ちたこの魅惑的な世界へ、ぜひ足を踏み入れてみてください。
This spring, Yunus Emre Institute Tokyo will host the first solo exhibition by Özlem.
Since ancient times, simple and familiar elements of nature—such as canola blossoms and sparrows—have been cherished in Japan. Yet, these symbols are beloved worldwide and have been appreciated across generations. Similarly, small daily objects like toys, scissors and trinkets hold a special place in our memories. When we revisit these timeless elements, they transport us to a labyrinth of recollections, evoking the emotions and nostalgia of childhood.
This exhibition explores the universal beauty found in everyday life, uncovering the hidden memories and emotions embedded in familiar natural elements and objects.
Özlem, a self-taught oil painter, has been developing her craft in Japan since 2019. In 2023, she co-hosted a group exhibition at Yunus Emre Institute, where her work received high praise. For this debut solo exhibition, she will present several large-scale oil paintings alongside many more miniature oil paintings, each measuring just 7.5 cm square.
The exhibition, titled “Wonderland,” invites you to rediscover the unnoticed beauty in daily life and experience a world of mystery through a childlike sense of wonder.
During the exhibition, Özlem will also host live painting sessions, allowing visitors to witness the breathtaking depth achieved through delicate layers of paint. Step into this captivating world and immerse yourself in the magic of memory and imagination.
